Jason getting too comfortable in his zone

Have you ever know a friend who have the same hairstyle since primary school or an aunt or uncle who is still stuck with the 60’s look like it is still fashionable since yesterday? Sometimes it make me wonder how these people manage to find new ‘old clothes’, as if time stood still for them.  On another perspective, I was out with Soo Lee for dinner earlier today and chance stumble on a clothes shop similar to Wondermomo. She was trying out this cool looking ‘Alice in Wonderland’ like dress but at the end hesitated on the purchase, partly being its a very girly type dress, which was abit too much for her as a sporty type of person and I can totally relate.

No doubt we love our ‘classic look’ or the style archetype that we refuse to change, making this the most difficult aspect of fashion for most folks (including me) as the idea of change is always uncomfortable and the fear of being a fashion victim. But the fact is, it is necessary for us to change as part of our growing process, by experimenting/experiencing new perspectives and the possibilities we never though it would work out for ourselves. One way to overcome this is to read fashion magazines, look at what people are wearing on the street and mixing up new looks that you want to try out.

Just remember that fashion should work for you as part of your personal style and not the other way round.  Forcing on a certain fashion trend or look that is incongruent with you gives off the vibe that you are a try hard. You’ll find that by going back to your usual style and incorporate the new look you’ve tried in small amounts, the results is you’ll always look cool regardless of fashion or age, and that says many thing about you; that you are confident enough to change and being an interesting person. So till then, rock on with the new you.
