After experiencing 1 and a half season in London, I can understand how important outerwear can be for a four season country with unpredictable weather. Thickness, weatherproof, practicality and comfort are some factor to consider to get the ideal outerwear for the weather.
Urban Parka
1. Parka – the ideal urban winter coat with thick wool lining, the parka will keep you warm and protects you from moisture from the snow and rain. Choose black, navy or charcoal for that professional look and leave the flashier colors for the ski slopes.
2. Trenchcoat / Peacoat – Military tradition inspired, these are ideal for spring/autumn wear where rain is common. Choose classic navy for peacoats and sand/camel for trenchcoats. Some of these coats have a separate removable thicker lining which is a bonus should the weather turns cold.

3. Windbreaker jacket – For windy days, these light jacket works well for stopping the occasion breeze from giving you the chills. Ideal windbreakers are made of nylon or synthetic materials. Some variants of the windbreaker jackets are the blouson, Harrington, golf or the biker jacket.
4. Overcoat – also known as the Chesterfield, this is a formal coat that goes with a city suit however it could be pair up with a sports jacket for a smart casual look. Black, charcoal or navy are the ideal classic colors.

5. Leather Jacket – the urban cool coat, there’s something primal about the jacket made off the skin and drapes very well against yours. Ideal as a windbreaker, however doesn’t insulate well being made of skin.
Leather bomber jacket
Like all timeless classics, choose outerwear in solid colors with traditional cuts for that understated look which will leave a lasting impression on the people you meet. Until next time, keep on stylin’.
